Murder-linked Pistol Confiscated during Metro Police Drug Raid

A 7.65mm pistol, believed to be linked to a murder in Kensington a fortnight ago, was confiscated during a Metro Police drug raid in the suburb late last night.

The Cape Town Metro Police Substance Abuse Unit, working together with South African Police Services, arrested four suspects during the raid.

The suspects, four men and two women aged between 22-35 years, were arrested for the possession of illegal substances and the illegal possession of the pistol and four rounds of 7.65mm ammunition.

According to the Metro Police Acting Deputy Chief, Wayne Le Roux, the pistol is believed to be linked to a murder in Kensington two weeks ago.

The confiscated drugs which have a street value of more than R33 000 - include:

21 x grams of tik
5 x whole MX tablets
4 x half MX tablets
36 straws of tik

The four suspects will appear in court shortly.
