Minister Simmers to take Western Cape Human Settlement budget to districts

12 April 2021

Tomorrow, 12 April 2021, Western Cape Minister of Human Settlements, Tertuis Simmers will commence with his Ministerial outreach to the municipalities across the West Coast District.

Accompanied by his senior executive officials, Minister Simmers will kick-off the engagement in Vredendal with the Matzikama Municipality, where they will meet with the entire Council.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, similar engagements will also occur in the Bergrivier, Saldanha Bay and Swartland municipalities.

Minister Simmers said: “I’m looking forward to these engagements, as it will allow us to present the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements’ budget for the 2021/22 financial year and discuss various matters related to human settlements. It is however regrettable that we will not have an opportunity to meet with the Cederberg municipality.

Further to this, I’m excited about the opportunity to hand over title deeds in Velddrif, Saldanha Bay and Vredenburg. We will also be handing over serviced sites in Riebeek-Kasteel.”

Citizens across the West Coast District can follow the different proceedings live on Minister Simmers’ Facebook page,
