Minister Simmers To Hand Over Houses In Forest Village

Tomorrow, 28 June 2019, Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Tertuis Simmers will hand over more than 40 houses in the Forest Village housing development in Eersterivier.

Forest Village is one of the Department’s catalytic projects in which the Provincial Government will spend over R1 billion within the next two years to change the landscape of the Western Cape. This development is a mixed use consisting of units for military veterans, Breaking New Ground and bonded houses.

Minister Simmers said: “I am looking forward to handing over these houses to the beneficiaries that are coming from wards 16, 17, 108 and 114. This is an important step to restoring the dignity of our people, while also promoting social inclusion through the development of integrated, resilient and sustainable human settlements.”

There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
