Minister Grant to Officially Open Merweville Road in the Karoo

Donald Grant, Minister of Transport and Public Works, Councillor EZ Njadu, Executive Mayor of the Central Karoo District Municipality and Alderman Truman Prince, Mayor of the Beaufort West Municipality will officially open the Merweville Road on 7 August 2015 in the Karoo.

The over six year-long project, broken up into three phases, has been implemented in partnership between the Provincial and Municipal tiers of government. The project has seen both the construction and upgrading of the Merweville road from un-surfaced to surfaced, and is likely to have far-reaching socio-economic benefits for the greater Central Karoo region.

Minister Grant and Mayors Njadu and Prince will preside over the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Minister Grant will also deliver the key note address focussed on the project and its various milestones.

Date: Friday, 7 August 2015
Time: 10:00 (Meeting at the former construction camp, which is 17 km from the N1. There is a gate on the eastern side of the road where parking has been arranged. Thereafter guests will move to VGK Kerksaal in Merweville)
Venue:  VGK Kerksaal, Merweville.

There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
