Minister Fritz to join Woordfees panel on youth unemployment

Today, the Minister of Community Safety, Albert Fritz, will participate in a panel discussion at the Woordfees discourse series in Stellenbosch, on ‘youth unemployment’. The panel aims to unpack solutions. Minister Fritz will be joined on the panel by Professor Rulof Burger.

According to the quarterly labour force survey’s fourth quarter figures for 2019; of the 20.4 million young people aged 15-34 years, 40.1% were not in employment, education or training (NEET).

Minister Fritz said, “One of the Western Cape Government’s top priorities is creating jobs and I look forward to engaging in this discussion.”
