Minister Anroux Marais: We mourn the loss of a champion for judo, Gert Loubser
It is with great sadness that we have heard of the passing of the Chairperson of West Coast Judo, Gert Loubser.
Gert was passionate about developing Judo in the West Coast region. He actively worked to bring more tournaments to the area and to grow the sport at grassroots level. He was someone who was extremely dedicated in his duties as chairperson, but who was also driven by his passion for the sport.
Minister Anroux Marais said: “Gert was a true example of someone who gave back to sport in his community. He worked hard to ensure that children especially could practice and participate in Judo activities. We appreciate his contributions to sport in the West Coast region.”
Our condolences go out to Gert’s family, friends and all those who worked with him in the sporting fraternity. His legacy will continue to live on through the work of West Coast Judo.
