Metro Police Nab Four (4) Suspects in Drug Raid

Four (4) suspects, including one (1) pregnant female, were arrested and large quantities of drugs confiscated on Monday in West Beach, in the Blaauwberg area, during Metro Police operations.

After numerous complaints from residents regarding drug dealing in the area, the Metro Police, with the assistance of the South African Police Services (SAPS), executed five (5) search warrants at suspected drug houses, starting at around mid-day on Monday.

According to Metro Police Deputy Chief Yolanda Faro: "Two (2) suspects, a man and a pregnant woman, were arrested at one (1) of the houses and charged with dealing in narcotics when large quantities of cocaine, Ecstacy tablets and TIK were found in their possession."

The confiscated items include:

  • forty seven (47) units of cocaine
  • sixty seven (67) units of Ecstacy tablets
  • one and a half kilogram (½ kg) TIK
  • five (5) cell phones
  • one (1) laptop
  • twenty (20) credit cards
  • four hundred (400) US Dollars

Three (3) bundles of cocaine were found in a wardrobe and approximately one hundred thousand rand (R100 000) cash was found in a jacket.

"Two (2) other suspects were arrested for the possession of TIK and heroin respectively during two (2) separate raids in the same area," said Faro.
