Media Alert: Thousands of Educators Receive Literacy and Numeracy Training

Penny Vinjevold, Head of Education in the Western Cape, will visit a Mathematics training session for Foundation Phase teachers at the College of Cape Town's Crawford Campus on Tuesday, 12 July, at 11:30.

Around 3 300 teachers are attending workshops organised by the WCED to improve their literacy and numeracy teaching skills during the holiday period.

At these workshops, teachers are being briefed on where specific problems lie, and what can be done to improve understanding in those specific areas. They are also being exposed to different styles of teaching, and are comparing and showcasing best practice.
