Media Alert: R281 m Observatory Forensic Pathology Facility.

Western Cape Minister of Health to Conduct Construction Oversight Inspection of a R281 m Observatory Forensic Pathology Facility.
 

On Tuesday 09 July 2019, Western Cape Health Minister Dr.Nomafrench Mbombo will conduct a construction oversight Inspection of the Observatory Forensic Pathology Facility.
 

Currently the Salt River Forensic Pathology Facility is overburdened, it is unable to meet the needs of the Western Cape people. This 10 399 square metre lab is envisaged to cost the Department R281 million, it will be a three storey building that will replace the Salt River FPS. It will provide better integration of the work of the Provincial Forensic Pathology Service and that of the National Health Laboratory Services. The facility will support the University of Cape Town’s academic training field. This initiative will enhance service delivery and bring dignity to our people.

The construction of this project has begun and the Minister is excited about the progress made thus far and would like to showcase it to the community.
