Media Alert: Minister Meyer to Open National Stamp Exhibition

On Tuesday, 11 October 2011, Dr Ivan Meyer, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Western Cape, will officially open the 2011 National Stamp Exhibition.

This year's event, which runs from 13 to 15 October 2011, is hosted by the Royal Philatelic Society and offers 97 exhibitors the opportunity to showcase over 400 frames of stamps. Included on display will be many international exhibitors and work from big names from the philatelic fraternity such as Adrian Jurgens who is well known for his controversial fake materials. This exhibition incorporates the JUNASS (Junior National Stamp Show), where various children between the ages of nine and 16 will be showcasing their stamp collections. Entrance to the National Stamp Exhibition is free, it is a family event and the SA Post Office will be hosting a special kids' corner for children.
