Media Alert: Minister Madikizela to Attend Housing Handover Ceremony

Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela, and Breede Valley Mayor, Basil Kivedo, will attend a housing handover ceremony at the De Doorns Housing Development on Friday, 19 August 2011, at 10:45.

Two hundred houses, which cost R12 million, are ready for handover. The project is funded by the Department of Human Settlements (DHS), and implemented by ASLA, the consultant/contractor, on behalf of the Breede Valley Municipality.

The allocation of houses has been and will be strictly according to the waiting list of Breede Valley Municipality, in order of the date of application. The residents who applied first and have been on the housing list the longest will be considered first. This principle was agreed upon with the Project Steering Committee, elected by residents of the area.

All media are invited to attend. There will be photo opportunities with Minister Madikizela and Mayor Kivedo.
