Media Alert: Minister Debbie Schäfer to Attend "Reading and Writing" Conference

On Tuesday 7 October 2014, Minister Debbie Schäfer will attend the Reading and Writing Conference presented by the Cape Teaching Leadership Institute (CTLI). 

 

The improvement of reading and writing is one of our primary objectives and the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) – therefore we have a number of teacher development programmes on offer to help improve the development of teaching in these areas.

 

Over 300 teachers have registered for the two-day conference which aims to improve teaching skills in reading and writing. 

 

On Tuesday, Minister Schäfer will be dropping into the one of the sessions at 12:00 and will briefly address all 300 teachers in the final session at 12:30.

 

All media are invited and welcome to attend. There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
