Media Alert: Minister and Metrorail to Launch Scramblers and High Mast Lighting to Improve Safety

23 October 2013

On Thursday, 24 October, Transport and Public Works Minister Robin Carlisle, together with CEO of PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa) Rail, Mr Mosenngwa Mofi, and Metrorail Regional Manager Mr Mthuthuzeli Swartz, will be celebrating the rollout of new scrambler bikes and high mast lighting, which will be implemented at key locations on Metrorail’s network.

This project has been a result of a partnership between Metrorail and the Department of Transport and Public Works and will no doubt improve safety for commuters and mitigate against the effects that vandalism has on Metrorail’s assets.
