Media Alert: Developers Invited to Register with the New WCED e-Catalogue System
The Western Cape Government has identified e-Learning as a key strategic priority to improve the quality of education in the province.
Schools are central to the provincial government’s plans to introduce broadband connectivity across the province.
Today, Thursday 27th November, the Western Cape Minister of Education, Debbie Schäfer will hold a press conference to demonstrate Phase 1 of a new e-Catalogue System and invite developers of digital education resources to join the department, as it expands access to e-Learning in the province. This will be introduced to schools together with the rollout of broadband, to schools in 2015.
The facility is live and we have the pleasure of inviting suppliers to participate in this important project.
The e-Catalogue will provide the very latest in digital education resources for educators and learners.
Minister Schäfer will demonstrate how developers will be able to classify their resources by grade and subject, and to indicate whether they are CAPS aligned, among other features.
Please allow time for signing in or confirm attendance with ID number in advance. All media are invited to attend and there will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
