MEC Max Condemns Reckless Driving after Collision on R27

He said that allegations of negligence and that the accident was caused when the driver tried to overtake a car will be properly investigated.

He conveyed his condolences to the driver's family and expressed his relief that only three occupants of the bus suffered serious injuries.

Max said that road accidents are costly and that the burden of disease is carried by the Health Department as well.

As demonstration of the seriousness of road safety and to improve law enforcement, Max is currently on a Road Show to all the Provincial Traffic Centers in the Western Cape.

Here he will be addressing traffic officers to enforce the law of the road without fear or favour and to have a zero tolerance approach when it comes to road safety and the safety of road users.

He also urges all road users to drive responsibly at all times and obey all road signs.
