MEC Dugmore to Promote Reading

<p>Western Cape Education MEC Cameron Dugmore will visit the Paarlzicht Primary School (Lantana Street, Huguenot) in Paarl tomorrow (Thursday 06 September) 11h30, to highlight the importance of reading, as part of this week&#39;s Readathon Campaign.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>This week is National Readathon Week, which is a national campaign aimed at promoting reading and writing skills in order to develop a culture of reading in South Africa. Now in its nineteenth year, Readathon is geared to distribute reading materials to more than 26,000 schools, 330,000 educators and more than 13 million learners in the country.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>As part of the Western Cape programme, MEC Dugmore will hand out a collection of books to this school, whilst several other schools will also receive as part of the Readathon celebrations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><hr class="subheading" /><p>&nbsp;</p>
