Major Mudslides Close Chapman’s Peak Drive

1 June 2015

The Chapman’s Peak Drive has been closed until further notice due to major mudslides that occurred at the Noordhoek end of the drive during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Entilini, the concessionaire managing the drive on behalf of the Western Cape Government, will be monitoring the situation. The safety of motorists and other road users is currently the most important priority.

With another cold front and rain expected over the next few days, the road will remain closed for the entire week until further notice. Motorists and road users are urged to make use of alternative routes during this period.
