Tomorrow, 4 April 2019, The Western Cape Health Minister, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo host a ceremonial sod turning event to mark the start of the construction of the R21 million project at Gansbaai Clinic.
This sod turning marks the start of what is set to be an impressive project, addressing the needs of the community. R21 million of the total of R1.2 billion earmarked for infrastructure investment this year, will be spent on the construction of this state of the art clinic in Gansbaai. The project entails the construction of a new clinic extension wing with a link to the existing Gansbaai Clinic facility, as well as upgrades to, and refurbishment of the existing clinic facility.
Construction has officially begun in March, and is expected to be completed by March 2020. The above expansion and upgrade also includes ancillary site works such as parking, landscaping and rain water harvesting. Additional services to be added to the facility: Emergency Treatment Unit, Ambulance Bay, Infectious Disease Unit, medical waste and refuse facilities.
