The Cape Town Metro Police "Drug Busters", working together with the South African Police Services, have discovered and dismantled another dagga processing laboratory.

Two weeks ago, the Drug Busters discovered high quality dagga in 15 large jars in a dagga processing laboratory which was hidden under the kitchen floor in a Vredehoek house.

This time, on Tuesday afternoon, the Drug Busters, arrested two suspects for possession of narcotics after they executed a search warrant at house in Gardens, Kloofnek.

Among the items seized were:
Lab equipment (lighting, extractor fans, chemicals, electrical equipment etc)
55 dagga plants
1 x large hash block
1 x bank bag of magic mushrooms
20 x medium bags of dagga
R3 000 cash

The suspect's electricity account is in arrears by more than R56 000.

The Metro Police Deputy Chief, Yolanda Faro, said: "We want to demonstrate that when we work together we can more successfully combat crime. Such successes provide further motivation for us to curb the drug trade which wreaks havoc in our communities."
