Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport Supports World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

On Wednesday, 15 June 2011, the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport hosted World Elder Abuse Awareness Day at the Bonteheuwel Civic Centre. Rallying around the theme "My World, Your World, Our World - Free of Elder Abuse", approximately 100 elderly between the ages of 60 and 90 years were treated to a morning of fun which included a self-defence and aerobics workshop presented by officials of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, as well as pertinent information aimed at making our world free of elder abuse.
