Christmas Babies 2015

Western Cape Government Health is honoured to announce the birth of 189 babies as reported by public health facilities throughout the Western Cape by 12:00 on 26 December 2015.

 

The number included 95 boys and 94 girls. 130 of these babies were born in the Cape Town Metropole and 59 babies were born in the rural districts.

 

Two sets of twins (one boy and one girl per set) were born at Paarl Hospital and Elsies River MOU.

 

Mowbray Maternity Hospital had the most Christmas babies where 26 babies (11 boys and 15 girls) were welcomed, followed by New Somerset Hospital with 19 births (9 boys and 10 girls).

 

Our first babies were born at 00:00 - one baby boy was born at Mowbray Maternity Hospital weighing 2.95 kg and 52cm in length; while another baby boy was born at 00:00 at Khayelitsha weighing 2.85kg and 53 cm in length.

 

Western Cape Government Health congratulates the parents on the new additions to their families and wishes them a healthy and prosperous life.
