There are community organisations across the Western Cape that need bicycles and cycling equipment to support the people and communities they serve.

You can help us get more wheels where they are needed most.

For a community organisation, a bicycle can mean getting to school, accessing employment, reaching essential services, supporting a local food garden, delivering medicine, or simply having a reliable and affordable way to move around the community.

Through one of our programmes, the Western Cape Mobility Department provides bicycles to community organisations across the province. But the need is greater than our available funding can meet.

That’s where you can help.

Pedal it Forward is an invitation to businesses and organisations to partner with us by donating bicycles and cycling equipment directly to community organisations that have an identified need.

How Pedal it Forward works

1. Choose how you would like to help

You can donate bicycles or any of the cycling equipment listed below.

2. We match your donation to a beneficiary

The Western Cape Mobility Department will help match your donation with one of our identified community organisations based on their specific needs.

3. Your donation goes directly to the beneficiary

Donations will be made directly to the identified beneficiary organisation. This means your contribution has a clear and tangible impact where it is needed most.

4. We help tell the story

We will work with you and the beneficiary to facilitate the donation handover and create opportunities to showcase the impact of your contribution through our communication and media platforms.

Your organisation doesn't just donate a bicycle. You become part of a story about mobility, opportunity and stronger communities.

What can you donate?

Our beneficiary organisations have identified specific items they need to support their work.

• Any and all types of bicycles for adults and children
• Get info from Yumna on eg. types or sizes ie. bicyle spec

Our own programme can only support a portion of this demand. By partnering with us, your organisation can help extend the reach of the programme and support a community initiative that is already making a difference.
