Western Cape Government and Nedbank partner to protect financially distressed homeowners

On Tuesday, 8 September 2026, Western Cape Minister of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers will host a title deed handover ceremony in partnership with Nedbank, highlighting the Department and its partners’ commitment to restoring dignity and creating opportunity for all.

This special occasion follows a similar ceremony held with First National Bank last year.

The partnerships with Nedbank and FNB facilitate the transfer of full, legal ownership to homeowners by using housing subsidies to settle outstanding loan balances for distressed customers.
