The Western Cape Government (WCG) Department of Infrastructure is inviting suitably qualified applicants to apply for training opportunities in the Construction Sector.
The training programme entails:
- Undergoing theoretical and practical training at a public or private TVET college
- working on a building site
- applying health and safety regulations
- maintaining work areas
- undertaking administrative tasks

- Surveying L4 (Ref. SOVB)
Minimum requirements:
- Between 18 and 34 years old
- Must be SA citizen
- Resident of the Overberg District
- Must be unemployed
- Health and Safety Officer: NQF L3/Grade 11 /NCV L3/N2 with a pass in Communication and Mathematical Literacy
- Surveying: NQF L3/Grade 11/NCV L3/N2 with proficiency in Mathematics, Communication and English or has several years of experience in surveying
Other requirements:
- Applicants must enjoy good health and be willing to undergo a medical and substance abuse examination.
- Successful applicants will be required to work on a construction site as part of the training program.
- Successful applicants must be willing to travel and work at various building sites across the Western Cape.
- Successful applicants will be required to sign a 12-month Training Agreement.
Stipend: R2 500 per month for the duration of the Training Agreement.
Applicants can use facilities at a local Library, Thusong Centre, E-Centre Youth Café or Internet Café OR personal smartphones to register on the SA Youth.Mobi platform.

Minimum requirements:
- Between 18 and 34 years old
- Must be SA citizen
- Resident of the Central Karoo District
- Must be unemployed
- Roadworks: NQF L2/Grade 10/NCV L2 with a pass in Communication and Mathematical Literacy and pass in English
- Plant operator: NQF L2/Grade 10/NCV L2 with a pass in Mathematics, Code 8
- Painting: NQF L2/ Grade 10/NCV L2 with a pass in Communication and Mathematical Literacy
Other requirements:
- Preference will be given to Code 10 and 14 for Plant Operator
- Applicants must enjoy good health and be willing to undergo a medical and substance abuse examination.
