N9 (5 km) between George and Oudtshoorn and Reseal of Waboomskraal Road
The Reconstruction of the N9 (5 km) between George and Oudtshoorn and Reseal of Waboomskraal Road
Reconstruction of a section of the N9 (5KM) between George and Oudtshoorn (2 km) has resumed with effect from 06 January 2026. The works are expected to be completed by the end of March 2028.
A 24hr Stop/Go road closure will be in place during half-width construction from 12 January 2026. Motorists can expect a delay of up to 20 minutes at the closure.
*Note: a 24-hour Stop-Go road closure does not mean a road is closed for 24 hours, but that the Stop/Go is in place around the clock - not only during certain times
Traffic will be accommodated on the existing road with a sig-nalled one-way traffic, 24 hour stop/go closure. It is a provision of the contract that traffic must be accommodated with the least delay and discomfort to the public as possible. Temporary full road closures (when blasting) will be communicated timeously. The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of the utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that all temporary road signs, cones, flag operators and speed con-trols are maintained and are effective. Courtesy shall be extend-ed to the public at all times. The contractor is required to make use of approved methods to control the movement of equip-ment and vehicles so as not to constitute a hazard on public roads.
The public is requested to be patient and exercise caution when using these roads.
