Minister Simmers to launch South Africa's first provincial road-reporting app
On Wednesday, 4 March 2026, the Western Cape Government Department of Infrastructure (DOI) will officially launch the Roads4U mobile app. This ground-breaking digital tool is the first smartphone application of its kind to be released by any provincial government in South Africa.
The Roads4U app marks a significant shift toward agile, citizen-centric service delivery by enabling the public to report road defects directly into the Department’s maintenance system. By leveraging automated GPS pinning and real-time updates, the app ensures a more responsive and transparent approach to infrastructure management across the province.
This, and other key features will be demonstrated at the launch event.
