Klawer Bridge remains closed till further notice

This remains a high-priority project within the Western Cape Department of Infrastructure flood recovery programme. 

The contractor is on site and making good progress. 

Construction scope: 

• Large upgrade to the substructure because of damaged abutment

Expected reopening: 

• Cannot communicate a definite date at this stage.
• Will be reopened to one-way traffic (traffic accommodation) as soon as construction activities allow.

We acknowledge the significant inconvenience and  economic impact on road users, businesses and surrounding communities.
