Gouritsmond Road reopened

Gouritsmond Road

Divisional Road 1525 (Gouritsmond Road) has been reopened to traffic following extensive repairs.

  • During the flood significant damage was caused including a 90m section of the Eastern Approach with erosion up to 5m deep in some areas.
  • Approximately 3 000 cubic meters rockfill and bulk material had to be used during June 2026.
  • Base course layers were reinstated by early July.
  • By mid-July 2026 the priming was completed.
  • The seal is being applied but the road can be reopened during this stage.
  • We thank our teams and partners for their tireless work. Yet another important route reopened.

Please use the road with caution as works continue with road marking, danger plate installation, etc.
