World Environment Month - June 2011

W.E.M 2011World Environment Day is celebrated annually on 5 June. Government organisations, NGOs and the private sector all celebrate this occasion in different ways, such as with events, educational excursions and advertising campaigns.

While an international theme is developed every year by the United Nations and adopted worldwide, this year, South Africa has decided to adapt the theme to highlight issues more pertinent to our situation.

United Nations (international) theme: Forests, nature at your service.
National theme: Save tomorrow, today.
