Tertiary Incubation Project

BENEFICIARIES: Tertiary students, young entrepreneurs

PROJECT DESCRIPTON:  The Tertiary Incubation Project sets out to identify potential and innovative student entrepreneurs (existing and new) with the objective to accelerate them by providing business support and mentorship through an incubator. The long-term objective is to establish sustainable businesses.

The Project is one of the Department’s business support projects aimed at supporting and empowering young people to establish and grow new businesses. The project will provide business support within a structured and organised environment and attempts to entrench a culture of entrepreneurship through workshops and pitch sessions.

The Tertiary Incubation Project will be implemented in the following three phases:

  1. To create awareness of entrepreneurship opportunities and possibilities through business idea generation workshops,
  2. The project will filter innovative ideas through a business Iiea (Dragon’s Den) pitching process, and
  3. A phase of mentoring and incubation of the most innovative student entrepreneurs.
