Update:13 July 2010

2011
(Western Cape Government)
The approximately122 foreigners who congregated at police stations for safety on Sunday (11 July) had all left the police stations by early yesterday morning (12 July): either returned back to their communities or to friends/family.

There were isolated incidents yesterday 12 July in Wallacedene, Du Noon, and Ocean View (in the City) and in Grabouw. Police are maintaining a strong presence in these areas.

There are presently 18 Zimbabweans awaiting transport to Zimbabwe who are next to the N1. Provincial Traffic Services are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that vehicles do not drop people off next to the freeway, as it is unsafe for them to be there. Provincial Traffic will charge any vehicle doing so.
