Implementation of Shared Services in the Western Cape
Shared Services has been identified as a national priority and can be defined as the "sharing" of scarce skills and resources between municipalities.One of the key deliverables for the Department of Local Government for this current financial year is to support the establishment of efficient and effective shared services in two of the districts in the province.
To design a value-adding cross-cutting project, donor support was secured from Deutsche Gesellschaft for Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to redefine shared services in the province, after which replicable strategies for shared services would be developed and implemented.
