professional policing and evidence-based interventions



The Safer Western Cape conference brought together crime, safety and governance experts to discuss innovative and practical ways to reduce violence and improve community safety. 

It was organised by the Western Cape Department of Community Safety (DoCS).  

Experts  discussed violence prevention, gender-based violence, professional policing, gang violence, alcohol & drugs, environmental crime, commuter safety and rural safety. 

The event focused on evidence-based policy development, best practice interventions, and collaboration between government, business and communities.
