Easter Interdepartmental Soccer Tournament - March 2011

For the second year running the Stores department won the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital Interdepartmental soccer tournament. Despite the rainy weather, the Anfield Eclairs (Stores) beat the tournament favourites PS XI (Pharmacy) 1-0 in the final of this year's chocolate-themed event on 20 April 2011.

 

Stores goalie, Nyameka, won the Best Female Player in the final award while Rudi, Cameron and Blade of Pharmacy tied for best male player.

The judges' votes were also divided on the Best Dressed, Best Name and Best Supporters categories. The Chomp Champs (Admin) won the Best Dressed award but were followed closely by the Trust Delights (Children's Hospital Trust) and Hot Chocolate (S19), who were commended for taking extra effort to sew their names onto their outfits.

The Madiba Bunnies (Trauma) won the Best Name category and the Ferrero Strikers (Mediguard) retained their title as Best Supporters.


PS XI (Pharmacy) and Chilli Lindt (ICU) battle for the ball. Pharmacy were the favourites in the tournament scoring a total of nine goals in their five matches.
