**Mandela Day at Lihle ECD Centre in Eden Karoo**

On the 18th of July, officials from the Eden Karoo Regional Office visited Lihle ECD Centre in George, to volunteer their services and donate some gifts for a worthy cause. The staff selected the ECD because they wanted to provide a helping hand to the Centre that is in the process of finalising their registration.

They painted the play area of the ECD and donated some much needed items ie. tables, chairs and toys.

One of Eden Karoo’s officials also cooked soup and served it to both children and teachers of the Centre. The children were happy to enjoy the soup at their new tables and chairs.

All volunteered services and gifts were well received by the overwhelmed Principal, Ms Violet Tshabe.

**DSD and Cape Grace Hotel hand over goods to The Haven for Mandela Day**
Donation to The Haven from DSD and Cape Grace Hotel for Mandela Day The Western Cape Department of Social Development (DSD) in partnership with international hotel group Cape Gate donated food items, clothing, sanitary goods and blankets to The Haven. Colleagues from Eerste River prepared and provided a warm meal to beneficiaries from the community. The staff from the DSD Eerste River Regional Office provided a warm meal to beneficiaries from the community.
