Isidima, the Western Cape Sustainable Human Settlement Strategy

Summary
Driven by the goal to deliver sustainable and quality housing to our constituents, we have developed a map. This road map is the strategy that sets out the manner in which projects and programmes that are needed will be delivered in fulfilling Government's promise of creating "a home for all in the Western Cape".

The strategy is called Isidima the Western Cape Sustainable Human Settlement Strategy (WCSHSS). Isidima, when translated from isiXhosa refers to "enabling dignified communities".

It builds forth on the visionary work done by the Breaking New Ground policy, from National Department of Housing. It also guides us in putting to work various Policy Frameworks such as the iKapa Elihlumayo and related strategies devised by the Western Cape Provincial Government as part of its obligation to house our people in sustainable communities.
