Are you an owner of a new or established privately-owned small or micro tourism enterprise? Does your enterprise have existing energy and water efficient systems and practices in place? Or has your enterprise begun introducing such systems to its daily operation? If so, the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism would like to bring an exciting growth opportunity to your attention.

On behalf of the National Department of Tourism (NDT), the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) presents: The Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP).

The objective of this is initiative is to encourage privately-owned tourism enterprises to implement tourism practices utilising cleaner and renewable energy sources and the efficient utilisation of water. The programme is part of the departments broader initiative to adopt practices for the sustainable management and usage of water and electricity resources whilst adhering to responsible tourism principles.

The GTIP provides grant funding to up to R1 million to qualifying small and micro tourism enterprises to reduce their energy and water consumption costs.
