This is a government fund where everyone who is employed contributes into this fund.
If a person becomes unemployed, then they can claim money back from the fund.
There are guidelines to assist employers with the contributions required. There are special guidelines for domestic workers.
The processes around UIF are governed by the UIF, a body formed under the jurisdiction of the Department of Labour.
