Cultural Facilities 2017 - How to make a booking?

The Western Cape Cultural Commission (WCCC) is a public entity of the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) and manages seven cultural facilities. 

The Commission calls on organisations and government departments to submit applications for the use of the facilities. The facilities are to be utilised for activities related to the core mandate of the Commission, namely the promotion, development and preservation of arts and culture as referred to in the Western Cape Cultural Commission and Cultural Councils Act, Act 14 of 1998.

  2. Melkbos Cultural Centre at Melkbosstrand
  3. Groot Drakenstein in Simondium, Paarl
  4. Okkie Jooste in Stellenbosch
  5. Schoemanspoort in Oudtshoorn
  6. Koekenaap in the West Coast
  7. Bien Donné Manor House (conference facility only) in Simondium, Paarl

The deadline for applications was Monday 31 October 2016 before 16:00.

Bookings should be aligned to the Revenue and Usage Policy and will be allocated according to criteria in order to ensure equal access for the usage of the facilities.

The booking system is being updated and there will be changes to the booking process in the future.
