Tinto U/15 Soccer Finals kick-off at 15h00 (Modified)

28 December 2005

It was a lovely day of fun in the sun.

The inaugural Tinto Under-15 Soccer tournament will be concluded when the two top teams will battle it out at Langa Soccer Stadium today at 15h00.

The teams progressing to the finals will be determined during the course of the day, when the last top eight teams will be competing to book a place in the first finals of the Tinto Under 15 Soccer tournament. A total of 32 teams took part in the tournament on invitation by Safa Western Cape, who is facilitating the tournament.

It is the initiative of MEC Jacobs to ensure the legacy of the late Christmas Tinto, a veteran in the struggle for liberation and a soccer administrator who passed away earlier this year, lives on. MEC Jacobs successfully negotiated with Santos, Ajax, Vasco and FC Fortune to each identify a minimum of two talented players to take into their respective development programmes.

MEC Jacobs and the family of the late Mr Tinto will be on standby to present the trophy and medals to the winners exactly an hour after the match.

All news media are invited to attend the finals as follows:

Date: 13 November 2005
Time: 14h45
Venue: Langa, Stadium
