Minister Sakkie Jenner to Welcome World Choir Games Champions Back to Cape Town

The Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs, Sport and Recreation, Sakkie Jenner will tomorrow morning be welcoming home the Tygerberg Children's Choir, as well as the Stellenbosch University Choir, after they won four first places at the 6th World Choir Games, hosted in Shaoxing, China.

The Championships kicked off on the 15th of July this year, and our representing choirs out sang 472 choirs from 83 nations to be awarded this coveted World Champions title.

According to Minister Jenner 'these choirs went out there and made the Western Cape and South Africa proud. Through their dedication and commitment they now reign as world champions.'

'These choirs have once again proven that there is an abundance of talent throughout the Western Cape and the people of this Province need to be proud of it' Jenner adds.
