Minister Marais to launch WC Netball Championship in Langebaan

Tomorrow, 30 April 2021, Minister Anroux Marais will officially launch the 2021 Western Cape Netball Championship, hosted by the West Coast Netball Union, in Langebaan, Saldanha Bay Municipality from 30 April until 2 May 2021.

As we can now safely move forward in the sector, we welcome the resumption of our official Netball South Africa events as we gear up to the 2023 Netball World Cup and the recommencements of its significant legacy projects to increase our local talent for participation at higher levels of excellence.

The Western Cape Government hereby extends a warm welcome to the players from all six districts, all administrators, coaches and technical officials participating in the esteemed Provincial Netball Championships.

As we now proactively prepare to host the 2023 Netball World Cup in the Western Cape, Championships of this nature draw us closer to bringing into fruition our vision of a socially inclusive, creative, active and connected province as it serves to create the enabling environment needed to increase safe local mass participation, skills development and talent identification in the code of netball.

To adhere to current COVID-19 protocols by regulating the number of attendees as no spectators are allow, please confirm your attendance by 16h00 tomorrow. There will be opportunities for media interviews and photographs. Social distancing and mask wearing will be strictly enforced.
