Tomorrow, 23 October 2018, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais, will present Sport Infrastructure and Facilities Planning Certificates to municipal officials in Mowbray.
The certificates are the result of an innovative partnership between DCAS, the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and the University of Johannesburg (UJ).
Over 50 municipal officials from across the province have now completed Facility and Event Management courses - provided by CPUT - and a Synthetic Turf Maintenance, course offered by UJ.
We are committed to promoting excellence and making the Western Cape the sport centre of South Africa.
Following this event, Minister Marais will officially handover sport equipment to the Overberg District Municipality as part of our commitment to rural development and increased sporting activity in our towns.
Beneficiaries who will receive equipment tomorrow include 23 clubs, 3 schools and developmental cyclists.
