Media Alert: Premier Zille to Unveil Pioneering 110% Green project

On Tuesday 16 July Premier Helen Zille will unveil a new flagship 110% Green project designed to make a positive difference in the lives of poor people in urban communities in the Western Cape. The project is also endorsed by World Design Capital 2014.

The announcement will be made at the Smart Innovation on Tour Open Forum, which is being hosted by Premier Zille and Professor Walter Baets, Director of the UCT Graduate School of Business. During the event, a panel of innovators will discuss the intersection between green innovation and social impact.

The Open Forum follows a tour today by business and government leaders to learn about a unique and varied collection of innovations and technologies that offer new solutions to ensure a greener future and create economic opportunities.

Smart Innovation on Tour is part of the Western Cape Government’s 110% Green programme and comes at the time of the release of the Western Cape Green Economy Strategy Framework, which aims to position the Western Cape as Africa’s leading green economic hub.
