Minister Simmers to officiate sod turn of the deferred ownership housing project

On Tuesday 21 June 2022, the Western Cape Minister of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers will officiate the sod turning of the Department of Human Settlements’ Deferred Ownership Housing Project, in Cape Agulhas.
 
The R55 million budgeted project, planned for the Deferred Ownership Model (i.e. rent to buy) is envisaged to create 106 housing opportunities and is a first of its kind. This concept, is aimed at individuals whose credit records can be regularised within a period of 24 months.         
 
Minister Simmers said: “I look forward to officially turning the sod of this much anticipated housing project, which we anticipate will be of added value to young aspirant first time homeowners. It will not only provide affordable houses, but will also create job opportunities for the unemployed and aspiring SMME’s in the region of Cape Agulhas”.
