As the Western Cape Human Settlements Minister Tertuis Simmers, continues on his site visits throughout the Overstrand District, he will engage the Theewaterskloof Municipality.
Accompanied by his senior executive officials, Minister Simmers will engage the executive Mayor, along with the MAYCO members in the municipal chamber, while the rest of the council members will join virtually.
The engagement will be followed by a housing hand over at the Rooidakke, Grabouw.
Minister Simmers said: “The engagement will allow us the opportunity to present the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements’ funding model, so that council members have a clear understanding of our processes. I am particularly looking forward to handing over houses to deserving and qualifying beneficiaries in Grabouw. These new homes will certainly assist in combatting COVID-19, as it will strengthen social distancing, while also helping to improve hygiene practices.”
Due to adherence to the COVID-19 regulations, particularly in keeping with social distancing, the chamber engagement can be followed on Minister Simmers’ Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/HumanMinWC
