Western Cape Human Settlements Minister, Tertuis Simmers, calls upon built-environment professionals and service providers to submit tenders for the construction of housing, infrastructure and various related services in the Province.
The Multi-Disciplinary Framework tender, opened on 20 January 2020, envisages work from different Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) construction classes (i.e. Grades 2 to7).
The Framework includes services such as: unblocking of houses; daily emergency and non-emergency work on properties; cleaning and clearing of vacant land owned by the Department; maintenance, electrical works, plumbing, painting, civil engineering; construction of housing units.
The Framework essentially serves as an invitation to build-environment professionals, suppliers and service providers to register with the Department for projects and work that will be allocated during the course of this year.
Minister Simmers commented that “this is an excellent opportunity for all interested bidders to make submissions. I’d like to particularly encourage historically disadvantaged individuals, along with young people to apply as we seek to expand the tender process and ensure that more entities have access to opportunities.
It is vital that those intending to bid to do so swiftly. Bidders must also be registered and verified on the Western Cape Supplier Evidence Bank (WCSEB) and Central Supplier Database (CSD).
Bidders who are not currently registered and verified on the WCSEB and CSD are not precluded from submitting bids and quotations, but must be registered and verified before the closing date of the tender. No contract will be concluded with any bidder unless it is registered and verified on the WCSEB and CSD.
The closing date for receipt of bids are Friday 14 February 2020, at 11h00. The physical address for submission of bid documents are Ground floor, Western Cape Department of Humans Settlements, 27 Wale Street, Cape Town, or 2nd Floor, Department of Human Settlements, York Park Building, York Street, George.
A non-compulsory clarification meeting with representatives of the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements will take place at 11h00, tomorrow, Tuesday 28 January 2020 at 27 Wale Street, Cape Town, 8000, Boardroom 702.
As the Western Cape Government, we remain committed to accelerating human settlement delivery, while promoting social inclusion through the development of integrated, resilient and sustainable human settlements in an open opportunity society. Your contribution can assist us to achieve this.”
