Elderly and Special Needs Residents Receive Homes in Zwelihle, Hermanus

The Minister of Western Cape Human Settlements, Bonginkosi Madikizela, along with the Executive Mayor of the Overstrand Municipality, Alderman Rudolph Smith, will on Tuesday 07 February 2017, hand over houses to three elderly and special needs residents in the Mshenxiswa Village Housing Project, Zwelihle in Hermanus.

The housing project forms part of the Department’s multi-phase Upgrading of Informal Settlements Project (UISP) and marks the completion of phase one.

A total of seven informal settlements will be upgraded as part of this development.

The prioritisation of elderly and special needs residents in this handover is in alignment with one of the Department’s strategic focus areas in order to maximise the impact of human settlements delivery in the Western Cape.

Venue:          Zola Street, Mshenxiswa Village (formerly known as “Garden Site”), Zwelihle, Hermanus.

 

Directions:

  • Take the Swartdam Road turn off from the R43
  • Turn off on Hlobo Street and continue on, till Mshenxiswa Village
  • Parking will be indicated
  • The ceremony will take place in Zola Street
