2016 Provincial Annual Govan Mbeki Awards

The Provincial Department of Human Settlements will hold its prestigious annual Govan Mbeki Awards tonight on Friday, 23 September 2016 at Century City Convention Centre, Cape Town to honour municipalities, contractors, developers and other stakeholders in the human settlements delivery chain.

The Govan Mbeki awards are an annual feature in the Human Settlements diary. They are to honour those who have performed best in the Human Settlements sector. The awards also aim to promote excellence, best practices and instil healthy competition among all Departments of Human Settlements in Provinces and Municipalities.

They are also a way of encouraging and thanking all the Human Settlements stakeholders who are making a valuable contribution to help government realize the goal of providing decent housing, security of tenure and comfortable living to all South Africans.

The Provincial Govan Mbeki Awards winners will then represent the Western Cape Province in the National Govan Mbeki Awards. Last year’s winners of the Provincial Govan Mbeki awards did the province proud when they took away 9 awards in different categories. We trust that the 2016 winners will do the Western Cape Province proud as well.
