New Council for Small Bus Operators

The Western Cape Small Bus Operators Council (WCSBOC) inaugural provincial conference takes place on 16 March 2013 at the Garden Court, Nelson Mandela Boulevard, Woodstock.

Items to be discussed include issues of empowerment and the formalisation of the industry, as well as safety, compliance and a code of conduct in time for the Easter holidays.

The conference is part of a long process which started at the Small Bus Operators Summit held in Johannesburg in 2009.

The WCSBOC has about 175 operators and over 250 buses.

Six regions are represented on the Council:

• Eden
• Karoo
• West Coast
• Overberg
• Winelands
• Cape Metropole

The conference is hosted by the WCSBOC in conjunction with the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works.
